Day by
day our planet's biosphere is slowly but inevitably entering into an
unmistakable state of eventual collapse. This reality seems imperceptible
to the hustle and bustle of most of the continually scurrying frightfully
busy bipedal planetary population. We humans have cobbled together mercantile
based societies that only thrive on growth, requiring the battering
ram of endless expansion to drive our economies and flourish our city
states. We have managed to manifest highly affluent life styles for
ourselves, a way of living that has been slashed mercilessly without
much thought into the back of this planet. It is this profiteering reality
which sadly completely ignores rudimentary sustainable planetary protocols.
This uncaring
industrially driven human world is adversely tampering with our biosphere's
life supporting living cosmic womb. Thereby causing it to wobble falter
and begin coming apart under the massive carbon induced excess that
it has to continually bare. This brutal criminal assault on pristine
cosmic nature is what buttresses all of societal and industrial activity. These murals
are intended as my digital "cave paintings"; a visual wail
against the amassing of crime inspired corporeal wealth, despite the
planetary cost. It is a misguided for profit only way of thinking about
living organic life. The very thing that makes us cosmically sentient,
the use of mind hand coordination, we exercise repeatedly without respect.
The plain truth is this, if we do not respect and take care of our environment,
we will all certainly die. We humans, in the end, are little more than
an immature organic cosmic life force, living out our huckster style
dreams of a completely insupportable worldly reality, while
we ignore the truths of our existence. Like those
cave dwellers of countless eons ago who felt the need to mark their
being by (ironically) using the carbon in charcoal to scribe their artistic
signs of a fleeting transitory existence. These photographic murals
are my lament at realizing there is an impending suicidal end inherent
in greater humanity. They are a testament to our collective lack of
perceptive insight and a mourning at the reality of our core detached
non-organic planetary civilization. |
